Default cf page width???

WTF...I guess I'm retarded because I can't figure out how to make the CF pages not so wide. I have to use the bar at the bottom to move the page to the left so I can read the whole posts and info on the right. Is there a way I can make the CF pages smaller in width ?
Thanks for your patience

Two things to try: First, if you are using IE, click on "View" at the top, then go to "Text Size" and select a smaller text size.

If that doesn't work, change your monitor display resolution to something higher.

Some pages within a thread can show up wider because somebody inserted a pic that is too big to fit. But that only affects the current thread page and not others.

My 17" monitor is set at 1280x1024 with 32 bit color and the IE text size is set at "Medium" and I have no problems with the page size.

I have my monitor set at 1600X1200 for my 22 inch screen and 32 bit color, and it still does it. Any other ideas?
I moved it up after reading this, and it still does it!

You should definitely not be seeing any scrolling at 1600x1200, unless you have your text sizes cranked way up. Try resetting your text sizes to normal again, and the screen should fit quite easily (it's sized ideally for 1024x768 but will fit a touch smaller than that as well).

In Internet Explorer:
View -> Text Size -> Medium

In Firefox:
Ctrl+0

In Safari:
Cmd+0

It doesnt happen all the time, just occasionally.

If it only happens part of the time, could you link me to a thread/page/url that causes the scrolling issue?

If it will help any with the scrolling issue, sometimes I use firefox 3.0 and sometimes I use IE 7.

If I'm posting in a thread, and I have a screen resolution of 1024 X 768 set for IE 7 like I used to use, I can only see 3 columns of smilies to the right of the text-entering box. In addition, there's no scroll bar at the bottom of the screen to let me see the 4th column of smilies. However, if I have a screen resolution of 1152 X 864 or smaller set, everythings's okay - no scroll bar needed. I do have 100% set for text size in both cases.

However, when using Firefox, I get a scroll bar at the bottom if I'm using any screen resolution larger than 1152 X 864. With a screen resolution of 1024 X 768, I still can see only 3 columns of smilies when creating a new post in a thread, but I do have a scroll bar to let me see the other column of smilies.

I am using a 22" monitor.

The message reply box is a fixed size. The problem shows up when the browser window isn't large enough to show the whole reply box. Sometimes it just cuts it off on the right side, cutting off the smilies. With Firefox I always get a horizontal scroll bar. With IE 7 I only get a scroll bar some of the time, depending on the size of the window.

If you'd just move the message reply box and the text box above it over to the left, you'd have more room.

It happens when someone posts a picture that exceeds the "standard" width.

I use 1280 x 1024 and have to scroll when oversize pictures are posted.

With the old software, when a large picture was posted it only expanded that posters reply box and left everyone else the same. Now if one big picture is posted, it expands everyone's posts to accommodate it, which is ridiculous and sometimes causes me to scroll all the way over and down just to find the return to forum buttons.

It's also happening to me. I haven't changed any settings on my computer or monitor. It only happens on this site, not on other forums. Here's a link to a thread that shows up wide for me.

I think it is doing that in that thread because of the pics being too big in post #3.

Are the ads going to remain in the threads? They seem to take up a lot of space. The forum never had this problem until they appeared.
