I get an error trying to get to the admin control panel to assist.

Maybe they are gone for good...

Homepages had been disabled a while ago. There were announcements regarding that.

While IB did delete access to editing/updating/creting the CF member home pages, I was able to log in to get to the File Manager portion last week.

Now it looks like access to File Manager using the userid/password function is disabled. I have a number of pics that I have uploaded to File Manager and used in some of my posts that can no longer be accessed.

There is also a post about this in the Steering Committee section.

I NEVER, EVER saw an announcement here that the Home Pages were going to be discontinued unless it was in OT. If you actually posted the annoucements, then what is the link and what date did you post them? It sounds like a high level IB decision to save a couple bucks, which is a really low class act to us long time CF members who have many irreplaceable pictures on the Home Pages. PT

I would think if there were an announcement it would be a stickie at the top of all forums......that sure didn't happen.

It was discussed at some point within some of the stickies that were made available before the last upgrade. The homepages had not been supported at all since Troy sold the forum.

I disagree, I was downloading and revising pictures on my Homepage a little over two weeks ago. Why can't IB put the pictures back up on the Home Pages for a week so we can download them onto discs? I asked about this before but never got an answer.

The CF moderators had announced this; and I even remember helping a couple of members download their priceless possessions from the pages. So, this is not a surprise.

As far as homepages completely not working - this is something I am working on, I do want the content that's there to display; but I am having problems even troubleshooting the system.

I didn't say they didn't work. I said they were not supported. Those that used it for a real web page lost some functionality over time and those items were not going to be fixed. If you used it as a web hosting file manager it did still work.

But I was the only one left to do anything with it and all I could do was find your password if you had forgotten it.

I finally found one notice made on 5-20-08 by Savewave on the Off Topic forum where I never usually go. The common sense solution would be to have a BIG note added to the page where you sign in on the home page stating that the Homepages would be discontinued and advise us to start moving our pictures but noooooo, that would be too easy. That would practically ensure that all the people with homepages knew what was coming.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=2030774

Now it appears from your statement above that you are saying that you are working on fixing the homepages. Everywhere I go here I get a different story, so what is it? Are the existing homepages going to stay or go? It would be nice if you guys could put them back on line for a week so we could at least download them and then you can shut them down for good, if that's what you have to do. Or as you said above.... you have helped other members download their "priceless possessions" from the Homepage.

With that being said, as a Lifetime Gold Member, I hereby ask for you to help me just download my pictures on to a CD and then I wouldn't care if the hompages stayed or was deleted. My email is below. Thanks for your help. PT
