what's wrong with the search engine?
Hey guys,
I was curious if anybody else has had lots of problems with the search button here. When I search, it might say I have 10 pages related to my search. Then it repeats some threads on different pages, only has 2-4 threads on certain pages, and sometimes just doesn't work. It also does not bring up threads that I have posted in when I search for my user name.
I was curious if anybody else has experienced this. Thanks.

To answer your question, yes, there has been some problems with search and a other issues with the site.
The powers that be, know about it and are trying to correct it.
The bitching is what gets the thread locked, which I do not think you were bitching, just asking a question.

To answer your question, yes, there has been some problems with search and a other issues with the site.
The powers that be, know about it and are trying to correct it.

I was in now way bashing, bitching or complaining about the forums. I've been posting on auto forums for the last 10 years, and this forum has to be the best, most informative, and informational forum with the best members. I think anybody that reads the boards here realizes that too, regardless if the search button is having problems. That being said, I was only curious if others have experienced it, and realize they have.
BTW, does the browser or anything else like that have to do with the search?

It's sort of a long-running issue ... that's why you're getting the weird responses you're getting. Lotta history.
Don't frustrate yourself trying other browsers, though IIRC many folks like the forum better when they use FireFox to view it. No help with search, however.

P.S. Sometimes I've been able to Google topics and by including the word "corvetteforum" I'll be directed to CF. It's sort of an end run, but not all threads get hits. Like, Google itself, not through the CF search.

Nevertheless, by looking at your post history I see you do not spend a lot of time in OT.
When you do you will be able to decifer each person's personality and know when they are just joshing around. It is usually of bad taste to personally insult someone's avatar due to a lack of sense of humor...
