[feedback]Supporting Vendors Bumping their threads so much?
I know supporting vendors pay money to support their products, which in turn supports this forum but at what point are they abusing that privilege?
Never noticed it too much until the one vendor caught my eye so maybe it's more of an isolated incident... 20ish threads throughout the forum being bumped 6-10 times a day
It just gets annoying and aggravating seeing ads at the top of the first page when your thread, asking for help and guidance on something, is miles constantly getting bumped down. This excessive bumping just hurts those members who are actually trying to use this forum for information.
PM'ed 2 mods and was ignored so maybe they don't care? Maybe they are just busy with more important stuff then listening to my rants.
I messaged the guy and basically got the, "I pay money so i can do what i want". He said a few bad words and that was that....

Maybe a PM to Savewave?? Could be that a number of the Mods are at CI X?
I agree, there should be no real reason for a Supporting Vendor to bump his thread so much. It is aggravating and I don't really think the intent of having Supporting Vendors is to do this sort of thing.
It's one thing to offer a new product and maybe to run a special deal for a few days. But after awhile, there has to be some sort of self-imposed limit. A good businessman would not want to turn potential customers off by effectively hogging sections.
And maybe his response to your PM should get forwarded to Savewave. Supporting Vendors do pay for the privilege of using the CF, but I would think that they are no different than any member when it comes to a (bad) attitude.
I don't believe we have "rule" on the number of bumps one can do. At one time the etiquette was one bump per day. As previously stated, give savewave a PM so he can give you the info. He is the forum vendor administrator.
Yeah. I don't know who these people are your referring to....
I figured i started this thread so mods could take care of it? Pewter99 *cough cough*
I know it's still going on so maybe nobody but me is annoyed by it? Or maybe the mods just don't want to offend a supporting vendor by asking them to restrain themselves a little bit.
The Forum traditionally has allowed supporting vendors to post in any of the generational sections and has not restricted the number of posts they are able to make.
With that said, however, I typically caution them if they post so many threads or bump so many threads that they seem to be overwhelming the section they are posting in.
The caution I give them is not that they must stop posting or bumping so frequently, but that their marketing strategy may result in a negative reaction from potential customers.
If you believe a vendor, of anyone else for that matter, is bumping excessivly, PM me the user ID and I'll check it out.
