I always get a variety of ads here on corvette forum (the ad generally at the top of every screen). I noticed as soon as I had a message in my PM box with an admin regarding upgraded membership, the ads 100% turned in to "supercharging my CF experience". So i decided to first delete my browser history/cookies.. ads are still the same.. then i tried to delete those messages and for good measure clear my browser history again and guess what happened? They went away. So unless some prolonged coincidence happened to me, our private messaging boxes are screened for content.
I find that rather invasive and after finding out that Google/G-mail screens everything that goes through their servers I decided not to use them anymore.
This is more of an observation post than anything... I'd really rather be on a website where even if it was not private, i would feel like it was. Basically I do not want my "private" messages to be screened for ad content.
I did not purchase a paid subscription... There is no way to block the ads under the banner which are scripted in to the page unless you buy an upgraded membership.
I wish someone with some authority would post in here that knows what I'm talking about.

FireFox + Ad Blocker = No ads. No subscription of any kind needed.
I don't doubt that posts, and maybe PM, are scanned for keywords. Targeted marketing is a big $$$ industry.
So I should download an ad blocker to get rid of this on my firefox browser?
Hope you guys understand what I'm talking about now.... Even if you don't, that's okay, I'll keep my suspicions.
I just temporarily turned off Adblocker Plus and the ad at the top of the screen between the Corvette Forum banner and the red line of options showed an ad. So it is Adblocker Plus (with Firefox) that's blocking it for me.
I just found it interesting that as soon as I had that PM saved in my box the ads changed to 100% CF upgraded membership ads. I got the adblocker.. works well.
