Only people who have database access, or Administrators, could access your PMs. But given the amount of users that CorvetteForum has, unless there is some sort of violation (if that), I seriously doubt PMs are being read due to the shear size of the audience and volume of PMs involved. No regular user can read the PMs from another account.

I'm told the vBulletin software can be configured to allow admin access to private messages and community administrators at some other sites have told me they do access private messages in some circumstances.
That is not the case at Corvetteforum, however, as the software is not set for any of us to access private messages. My feeling is that private messages should be private.
On the occasion when we have sanctioned Forum members for their inappropriate communications via private message, it has been because one or more of the recipients of the PMs forwarded them to a moderator for review.
I can recall at least one situation where copies of private messages and/or IP addresses used to access the Forum were requested for use in a legal matter. Internet Brands policy in such instances is that private messages, "deleted" posts, IP addresses or any details not publicly accessible will not be released without a subpoena or court order.
I gather it is time consuming to access and retrieve PMs from the database, so in the instance of being legally compelled to do so, there probably would be a fee associated with the process.
