Default Log-Out Timer?

Greetings -

Was something changed with the forum's software settings recently so that it forces users to re-log in after N hours? I don't remember having to do that up until recently.

No. I just close my browser. Never have to log back in. Do you have the remember me box selected when you log in?

Log out, delete your Corvette Forum cookies, and log in again, being sure to select the remember me box.

Be sure you've not got your browser set to delete the cookies when you close it.

A recent change was made to fix the IE issue. However, no changes made to how the cookie system works.

It sounds like you have a classic corrupt cookie issue. This happens from time to time on any site. Due to cookies being in use per site, this issue usually only occurs on one site at a given time.

First try manually deleting all your CF cookies. Logging out will not delete your cookies. There will be several CF cookies. I don't recommend, unless necessary, for you to delete cookies for ALL sites because you will lose automatic login and other cookie-based preferences used on other sites you visit. Once you've deleted all CF cookies, then simply revisit the site, make sure to use the Remember Me option, and then log back in. This is usually all it takes to fix.

I still cannot stay logged on to the forum. I've deleted the cookies, etc. even upgraded to IE 9. The problem for me also started a few weeks ago. I check the box to remember me but whenever I close IE, I loose my logon. Never had the problem before. The other websites keep me logged on when I have chosen to.

This is a cookie issue local to you. Make sure you've deleted ALL CF cookies. There will be multiple CF cookies. Simply logging out does not work instead of deleting cookies. Then revisit the site and log back in.
