I don't use photobucket but, I am sure it is the same. You have to make sure the photo is no larger than 150x150 and less than 29kb. Once you get it that size upload it to photobucket.
You then need to get the link to the photo hosted on photobucket (ie: http://www.photobucketcoolpick.jpg etc)
Highlight that link, right click on it and copy it. Go to the forum, on the top left there is a red bar that goes across the whole page, the first words on it are "user cp"...click on it and you will go to a new page.On this new page you will see on the left, the words "Edit Avatar"....click on it. No under "custom avatar" you will use "option 1". Get rid of the "http://www." that is already there, then right click in that same area and click "paste", this will paste that link you copied, once you are done that, click the "save changes" The page should then reload and your new avatar will be there.
