I didn't think regular forum members could delete a post that starts a thread. ??

That's correct that regular forum members can't delete their own thread, but they can delete their posts.

If the OP meant their thread (which probably is the case if you're posting an ad) then the answer would be No, you can't delete your own thread.

If you want one of your threads deleted, you can contact the Moderator for that forum. The Moderators for the C1 & C2 forums are as follows: MasterDave, crossram, pewter99, Tact, H P Bushrod, ALLTHROTTLE&NOBOTTLE

Or you can click on the Report Post icon and note your request.

Or you can let me know which thread it is you want deleted.

However, I don't think it's standard/normal policy to delete threads for items that have sold. You can update the thread to indicate the item is sold and no longer available.

I don't think that For Sale threads are deleted when the item(s) is sold.

When an item is sold, you should update (edit) the thread noting the item has been sold, and then contact one of the Mods and they will lock the thread.

And a mod can lock the thread

What's the best way to find out who the moderator is for a specific area?

In each forum, at the bottom right, there will be a list of moderators. There's usually several moderators per forum.

For example, on the C5 Parts for Sale/Wanted:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-p...ale-wanted-53/

Scroll down to the bottom right to find the following:

Awesome, thanks J T. I knew I saw it somewhere, but I couldn't find it to save me!
