Default TSB & Recalls

What's the deal with the TSB & Recalls tab? Why is it there if no one has written the code to go behind it? Not a big deal but it does waste your "customers" time.

BTW, I'll second the thanks for getting Recent Topics working again after such a long time.

What do you mean by no code written behind it? It appears to be functioning for me:

I wasn't aware we had that feature - how do we access it?

There is a link on the red navbar "TSB & Recalls"
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/alldata.php?default

However, I've noticed it's not showing on all of the styles/themes (e.g, C4, etc.). I'll look into that.

The tab only brings up a blank white page. Your link above does the same. It is the same on every area where I have tried it.

The URL is http://forums.corvetteforum.com/alld...012/makeid=10/

What browser? And what 3rd party software/addons are you using?

The link you provided works for me.

3rd party software? Process explorer shows about 42 non-Microsoft processes running this morning. I doubt you want a list of all of them. The only one that I believe MIGHT be involved would be McAfee. McAfee doesn't like sites that do "tricky" stuff. I also have a HOSTS file to block spammers.

That item doesn't appear in the red navbar for me, and the link just brings up a blank white page (Windows 7, IE9).

I believe only the default theme/skin (C6) currently has the link in the red navigation bar, which we'll fix as it was an oversight when the product was installed. I have a fix for that to apply.

As far as the white page, I'll do some checking since you're the 2nd person to note that issue and it may be an issue with IE or a setting.

I have the item in the red navbar now and the link works, but both take me to a page where I have to buy a $20.00 AllData subscription to view the results; is that the intent?

WOW! Almost works for me also. All except the select engine dropdown list. All that work to see an ad? You're kidding, right?

After John's post where he provided the needed details, I discovered the issue was with Internet Explorer. The person in charge of this product was notified and worked on it yesterday. It appeared fixed yesterday as two of my machines with Internet Explorer now work, however, there does appear to be some issues with the engine select feature so we'll look at that again.

Are you saying John posted more details than I did? If so I think you need to read my posting again. Or was it that John and I both indicated IE9 but different operating systems? I'm just asking to get a feel for what you think is important in isolating problems here.

JT, I'm still curious about this - are we supposed to see results, or only the AllData subscription requirement?

I'll check into that to make sure and I'll get back with you on that.

Thanks

No, you did reply the requested information as did John. Both helped find the pattern which lead to finding and resolving the issue. There is still some issue, as you mentioned with the engine drop-down and I can confirm that as well, which we'll look at that specific issue as well.

Regarding the concern as to what this function does or doesn't do, I'm not directly involved on this project, so I'll need to check and get back on that.

Clicking on the TSB & Recalls item in the red nav bar now just brings up a page with a blue bar below the red bar that says "TSBs & Recalls :: Select Page", whereas the link still brings up the year/model/engine select boxes that takes you to the AllData page that wants $20.00 for a subscription. Windows 7, IE9 as before.

John, to confirm, I was informed that this is a subscription-based service. So to answer if your results are as intended, the answer is yes.

Thanks

I assume you are aware that shortly after these comments were made it stopped working again and hasn't worked for the past 3 months?

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...-page-new.html

I also assume AllData is still paying for this function?
