Default Suggestion for site navigation

I haven't been a member for long, but have been (and currently am) a member of multiple automotive forums. In comparison to others, I find this site to be much more difficult to find what I need.

For instance, I have a C5 coupe. When I visit the site, I have specific intentions in mind that I want to research. The other forums I am a member of have sub-directories in the General Tech area to narrow the focus better...such as 'engine', 'brakes', 'wheels/tires', 'suspension' 'interior', etc...To their credit these forums are geared to one model and mostly one generation of car (Acadiaforum.net, Trailvoy.com, and Camaro5.com), so perhaps this is easier to execute. But I could see this being helpful for fellow members to post in the appropriate locations and receive responses quicker. For folks like me I can peruse the specific sub directory and find what I need without scanning through other "general tech" issues. Trailvoy.com is actually set up nicely and sort of what I would envision for this site.

The search feature only gets me so far and often doesn't focus on strictly the C5. I'm not a paying member, as I'm still new, so perhaps this makes a difference. Understood if so. But if not, and as an alternative to the suggestion above, if the search could allow user to define the search to a specific sub directory (say C5 only), it too would speed up researching issues and clean up posts made in wrong categories.

Oh well, just my $.02. Don't suppose it matters much.
