I think it's the bookmark. I have CFOT as the bookmark.

 

I use Safari and don't see it.....just tried it on Firefox with ad block, can't get rid of the pictures.

At home I use Firefox with NoScript and Adblock. I also stay logged in at home and use direct links to CFOT and CFPRC. With all of that I only see the camera icon at the top of the page.

 

you can right click on the camera and add it to adblock!

Not a fan of the picture battles, for the following reasons:

* The nudity/**** pics have made CorvetteForum inappropriate content during work, or from work computers. The site is no longer family-friendly, or suitable for children.

* Pages take forever to load or never completely load, browsers freeze and crash.

* No way to disable it via settings. I have to use an adblock program.

* Takes up too much space at the top of every page.

* I'm just not into the picture battles thing at all.


FWIW, I've got a 60 Mbit/s connection, use Firefox 18 (and Chrome 23, MSIE 9), and browse from a 12 core workstation, Macbook Pro Retina, google Nexus 7, Android Ice Cream Sandwich phone, etc etc.

Personally, I have no problems with nudity or ****, but I don't want it on my favorite Corvette/car site. I love car pics, but don't want them shoved down my throat at the top of every forum page. I'm disappointed that I can no longer visit the site while at work, and can no longer share the site with children, or family/friends who don't like ****/nudity.

My preference for the picture battles is that you guys just buy another domain, like CorvettePorn.com, host that site separately, and just put a link to it at the top of the page.

IMHO, it is simply NOT APPROPRIATE for a corvette forum / car site to show close up X-rated pics of completely naked women with legs spread, or with their junk hanging out through a g-string. This site is now illegal in some countries, and will be blocked by many (more) corporate proxies and netnanny services.

Think about this: showing this site, or allowing children to view it, is now considered to be one or more felony sex crimes in many states and countries.


CF admins/owners: I understand that you make the rules and control the changes. As a long-time member and owner of many vettes, I hope you'll consider the implications of this new CorvettePornForum you've created. You've sold out your community that made this site what it is today (or was right before picture battles started): the undisputed, biggest, best, Corvette forum in the world.

I'm betting 99% of this site doesn't like picture battles, and some have probably already left. Listen to your users before the other corvette forum takes in all of your former users.

 

Given the harsh rules on pics around here, it amuses me to no end that I opened up my browser today and got a nice nude.

Savewave has a sticky at the top of each Forum sub-section that basically says "Babe" pics are not allowed and there are penalties for on-going submissons.

The Mods will remove offending pics as they find them or are reported to them. They are also issuing "sanctions" to those who post offensive pics.

While I personally don't have a problem with pics of hotties, I do agree that the CF is not the place for them. There was a "Babes" section some years ago but it got so out of hand that it became a problem with accessing CF at member's work places.

I don't think that this idea was anything that came from the CF Admins either; I think it's something that IB created and put out there. Maybe IB thought it was OK for all of the forums they own, but it's clear that our Admins don't see it exactly that way. And that is all fine and well.
