I've been very active here for the last ten years, but never tried to use the "Search" function until today - was trying to find a post I made back in January, 2011. I used "Advanced Search", but the drop-down box choices only let me go back a maximum of one year, and I didn't see any way to identify a specific date (only the less-than-a-year ranges in the box).
Is this the way it's supposed to work, or is there some other way to go back more than a year or to a specific date?
All content should be available for searching. While the Advanced Search option shows a maximum of 1 Year or older option, which means it will search content 1 year and older, you'll have to be more specific with your search query to make sure it searches far enough back before reaching the limit of returned searches. One way to be more specific is to search only a specific forum where the content is.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I just tried it again, and under "Search Options", "Find Posts From", the only choices are "A Year Ago and newer" or "A Year Ago and older".
"A year ago and newer" doesn't help if I'm looking for a post over a year old, and "A year ago and older" will bring up every post I've made in the last ten years (that's THOUSANDS of posts). I don't see any way to specify a specific date (or range) more than a year old. I'm searching for posts with my username, only on the C1/C2 Forum. Is there supposed to be a box to specify a date that isn't coming up for me?
You'd need to use the "1 Year and older" option, select the specific forum, select your username, and then provide some descriptive terms to match.
Unfortunately the software does not have the ability, without modifications, to search content between specific dates. Simply put, when you have as much content as CorvetteForum has, it can become a needle in a haystack case.

Thanks, JT - I guess that's as good as it gets for now.
