Pages Loading Slowly
Pages are now loading slower than my old dial up. If they load at all.
I switch from IE to Firefox, back and forth just to find things.
If I attempt to load a page I have more success at going back to a previous page and then back again. The ads are the culprit it appears.

I like many here have had many problems with the speed of this forum. Now that is a bit strange as I’m on 2 other car forums, a few gun forums and a couple finical forums. THEY ALL WORK OK, it’s just this forum! What I have learned to do when the forum is slow or even locks up is to go to another open browser (I stay with Internet Explorer)and switch to other forums that are working right and after a bit go back to the CF.
I also do a variation of that by keeping two forums open for CF and when one goes to sleep just put it back on the tool bar and bring up the other. Work till that one plugs up and then repeat the moves. I can do this many times a day!

Again this only happens at the CF so in my electronically challenged mind, pure deduction says whatever the problem is it’s something happening because of the CF. I’m no Sherlock Holms but this is so blatant Stevie Wonder could see it.
PS Im on RR through TW.
If anyone uses Firefox or Chrome and could use the Firebug plugin, which will show the elements and their load times, that is experiencing the issues, it will certainly help us further looking into the reports and specifically see what is occuring with the necessary information.

That aside, I often see two types of slowness being reported and they're usually unrelated. One is due to high CPU load on the local (members machine) and the other is due to possible network concerns.
Slowness definition 1:
CPU load on the members machine is high while visiting the forum. Scrolling up and down is choppy. Smilies may not animate or may be very slow to animate. Typing in text may not immediate appear in the textbox and has to catch up. This is generally not a network issue but is due to high CPU load on the members machine as the members machine is having trouble running Internet Explorer due to resource issues. This could be due to an ad that is resource intensive.
Slowness definition 2:
Webpage partially loads - usually the top header loads. Rest of the content below the header may take some time to load. After page is loaded, scrolling is normal, smilies animate normally, typing in text appears normally in the textbox.
That said, dbdave, who started this thread, reported the issue disappearing:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/1582454331-post29.html while others are reporting the issue. Meaning, results are mixed.
is much slower than my office--no problems when connected via the latter's network, but I don't log-in to CF
from there as often.
