I edit the vBLive selections but nothing changes, how does this work?

Appears to be working correctly for me. What browser are you using, what add-ons/plugins are you using with your browser and what forums are you selecting?

I am using Silk on my Kindel and basically just want to see the C6 forums.I will go try it on my laptop and see if works for me there.

The settings are saved on the account so you'll need to be logged in if you have selected certain preferences. I checked and seen no issue and could not replicate any issue. The settings save normally on a regular account and they recall correctly on a regular account.
