I've tried to unsubscribe to most of the threads, but I still get emails from those threads. Can it be stopped?

Is this just a current issue? You may be seeing delay email notifications. In other words, you may be receiving notifications that were queued before you unsubscribe. There is an issue with the email delaying emails this weekend.
