This morning I reported spam that someone was putting on all the websites and lot of post are saying Virus and it should be locked, cause people don't understand what the triangle means. Perhaps you can change that to something everybody would know the sign meaning.

I see lot of post and they don't know, and putting in the rules people don't read, and I also think reporting them shouldn't be on time limit, cause I reported it in every sections waiting the time out to post.

Thanks.

The is not specific to CorvetteForum but is to any website running the vBulletin software that hasn't deliberately changed that icon. vBulletin is the most popular forum-based commercial software available.

Regarding a timeout, I'd have to do a code review but if there is a timeout on the Report feature then it is only 10 seconds and would be tied to the Post feature. In other words, I'm not sure it would be easy to change and a 10 second delay wouldn't seem too severe.

It will depend on the moderator, but some would see an obvious spammer and ban the account and delete all of their posts - even if all posts wasn't flagged.

JT, this morning I looked at the profile and 74 posts, and I know I reported him couple months ago, I know if you deleted him, he'll just come back with a new user name.
I had to wait 60 seconds before I could report again, I saw the time delay, 10 seconds would be nice.
I spend lot of time here, and catch lot of these people with nude sight and virus.

Have good day.

I see that the Report post feature is tied into another feature that has a 60 second timeout for flood check. It may be possible to modify the behavior to allow a lower timeout on the Report post feature. We will do some investigating and discuss the concern.

Most of us will remove all posts by that spammer that are in the sections of the forum where we are a moderator.

I was hesitant to say this in case it made it more difficult for staff, but I do wonder if it is necessary to flag every single post by one member. 1bdvet stated 74 posts by a spammer, and that would be a lot of time on his side reporting 74 incidents and would flood the moderator with 74 emails - just for one account when a moderator may see it's an obvious spammer and handle accordingly.

EDIT: I discussed this with Savewave and he stated that it's a procedure by CorvetteForum Moderators to delete all posts by a spammer and so there is no need to use the Report Post feature on every single post from the same spammer if you've already reported atleast one of them.

Thanks!
