It's really irritating correcting typos noticed after the fact and then getting that dreaded big "edited by" attached to your post.
Typos are so common, especially with the popularity of mobile
devices. Now we only have two options, accept the big ugly "edited by" or accept the typo.

I liked it one whole hell of a lot better when we had a few seconds to make a correction. I'm sure I'm far from alone.

The Edited By message was a decision made by Administration. It is also very limiting in options so there isn't really many ways to give to both sides. It's either on or off based on X amount of time passed. So it can't vary by members, sections, etc.

Since you invited me here, I do want to share my opinion that everyone makes mistakes when typing. You can't go back and edit sent emails (ones that are actually sent - not ones in draft or being held by Google's lab options), can't edit txt messages that are sent, etc.

The decision is up to Administration, namely Administrator Savewave, and not me as I'm on the tech side and not policy side.

I'm merely asking to restore a feature that once existed....and it's not comparable to emails.

I'll PM savewave.

Yes, and I merely replied to you addressing me by informing you that it's not my decision. I had already asked Savewave to weigh in on this.

As far as what it is and isn't comparable, the point I was making that still stands is that people make typos and there are times when you can't go back to edit something "sent", "posted", "received". Someone can certainly mass forward an email with a typo, post it online, print it, publish it, etc.
