Ads help pay the bills. Although this site is free to access and use by members, it is far from free to operate. CorvetteForum's traffic and activity requires decent servers and bandwidth that can't operate on some 9.99/month plan.
Ads are more prominent for Guests (those not logged in). That has been the case for several years.
