You can edit any post using the edit function, but you cannot delete or close a thread or change the title. If you need those functions done, click the report post icon (the little triangle with the exclamation mark in it) and request some assistance. Or, you can PM any section moderator to help you. Their names are found at the bottom of the main page of the section you are posting in.

You can delete a posting in someone else's thread that you have a answer for as long as someone hasn't replied with your quote in their reply.

There is no reason to delete a For Sale ad and you won't be able to delete the thread - especially if there's any replies.
If the item is no longer for sale, simply post a reply that the item is no longer for sale.
As stated previously, you can edit the post to make any corrections or changes via the Edit Button.
