I don't understand what the word "paltry" means but I do believe the OP gave an insufficient amount of information to help us determine root cause.

Why? It's because one of the common questions and complaints made to many forums like CorvetteForum is in regard to how to participate on the forum. Those are usually the ones viewing as a Guest (not logged in).

If you don't want to see it, stay logged in. Otherwise, it's going to briefly be displayed for Guests (not logged in) to help those to participate on the forum.
