I've had to turn off my speakers to browse the site. Commercials keep trying to blast through my speakers. There is no visual popup, it's just audio. The "noise" lasts for one second and it happens every couple of minutes.
It only lasts for a second. Have heard what seems to be 2 different ads. Could be one ad at different points of progress? One is Christmas sounding music. I think the other which happens less frequently has some talking but no idea what is said. After a lifetime of practice ignoring advertisements they only register on my brain as noise.
I run a desktop using Edge browser with Windows 10. Been off and on the forum for a few hours this morning and haven't seen it happen yet. Perhaps it fixed itself? Will try to pay closer attention and update if I hear it again.
I'll see if the ad team can block the ad. They aren't advertising directly to CorvetteForum, to my knowledge, but are in the ad pool.
But it might help if you can provide the direct link to the ad.
You said you cleared history and cache but didn't note browser cookies. Ads can come based on your browser cookies and history as well as your IP address.

Then I quickly scrolled down to the bottom of this Corvette Forum web page, and there is was ... A Culver's commercial video (without the sound).
So, it's pretty obvious that the Corvette Forum is now loading advertising videos. Just so happens that the sound only lasts for a second or two.
BTW ... I am using a Dell desktop computer with Windows 7 and Google Chrome as my browser.
This even happens after cleaning my 'history' and 'cache' using CC Cleaner.
I don't know how to provide a direct link to the ads ... BTW, the ads are different everytime the video / audio comes on. Again, the audio only lasts for a second or two.
Sure, I could just turn the sound off when I visit the Corvette Forum, but that really don't fix this problem.
The deal is .... They never used to have video ads on this message board.
Oh ... and I also have my 'pop-up blocker' turned on, but in this case, it don't really help.
I'm told the automatic audio ads are not intentional. However, when the issue occurs we need to see a complete screen capture of the page to help narrow down the ad and if you know what ad is doing it then a click-through link will be even more useful.
Remember that just because some members see some ads, that doesn't mean everyone else sees the same ads. Ads are based on numerous factors that varies (location, browser history, etc.). Therefore, there is no simple way to know when the issue occurs and which exact ad is causing the issue because the specific ad may not be served to everyone.

I don't see anything in the little ad box you pointed out, it's just solid black.
