Problem turned out to be an issue using an Apple phone. Apple/Safari in an Apple upgrade changed something with special characters when inputting a my login name. With the help of J T (Forum Administrator), he took an interest in helping and we uncovered the problem. I dropped the apostrophe in my login name and everything is once again working. Thanks J T I appreciate your assistance.
I have been using the site on my mobile device for years. Recently when logging in I get an error message that the login / password is not correct. I have been careful typing it in and had others try logging in on their devices and we still can't get in. I have changed my password to one character, still unable to log in. Is their a setting on the site that prohibits a user using a device login that I might of turned on by accident? I have no issue logging in on a computer, appreciate any ideas.
Thanks
Jim

If you're receiving an error that the username/password was incorrect, then the username/password passed to CorvetteForum is incorrect. There is no other option. The browser passes the supplied data, from you, to CorvetteForum and checks against the database.
The system does not inform you which (username or password) is incorrect (or both). So you're not able to know which (or both) is incorrect.
Passwords are CaSe sensitive while usernames are not. We recommend you make sure the device is not adding capitalization to your first character of your password.
Additionally, we've had a few past reports from members with the same concern. Turns out they were going to Google and searching for CorvetteForum and then clicking the link from the search results. Problem is that's not only insecure, but they were given a link to one of our sister sites CorvetteForums which while it's owned by the same company as CorvetteForum, it does not use the same database and therefore username/password are not shared as data is separate.

I understand what you are recommending. I am on the correct site, I compared the pictures on both sites, mobile vs computer and they are the same. I can login manually on a computer. I have been very careful with my user name and my password is one digit.
I would be happy to supply you with my one digit password to see if you can get on. Thanks for your time.
I'm having the exact same issue....Has this been resolved. I have no issue on a laptop but I do on all of my mobile devices.
Aside from the original poster, we are not aware of any such issue. We are unable to duplicate the issue with our mobile devices. We can't resolve what we can't duplicate or find as an issue.
We remind everyone that:
1) Usernames are not CaSe sensitive.
2) Passwords are CaSe sensitive.
3) A few have found that they were trying to log into a sister site www.corvetteforums.com which does not share the same database
4) The system does not inform as to which, if both, username or password is incorrect. As long as the username and password are correct and match the system then the process works.

I still have the issue, I am still working with the Forum to resolve. We have exchanged several emails. Originally they thought it was in my mobile device cache, but I have tried a few different mobile devices and have the same issues. Hopefully it will be resolved soon.

I would be happy to provide you my username and one digit/character password and you can try on your device to get into my account. I have worked with others, in support, and no one can figure out why I can't get in on a mobile device, but I can on a computer.

Let's make sure we're on the same page because I don't see these questions answered:
1) Are you using the App?
2) If not using the App, are you using the Mobile theme or full-view theme? I say this because when I pointed out the sister website, you said what you see on mobile is the same as you see on the laptop. That should not be the case. Your mobile device should get detected as a mobile device and given the mobile theme. Your laptop will have the full-view theme.

I log into the site by putting corvetteforum.com in my Google browser on my mobile device. Next I click on the upper left, click on log in on the drop down tab. Next I enter my username and password. When using my mobile device, historically I would click on full website.

I did rely to you last questions.
It is not an app I am using it is the full site from my phone.
My son was over yesterday and I can access his account from my phone but he also can not access my account from his phone. Is there a way to prohibit mobile access on an account? I still would like to create and give you a password to my account an you can try on your device. I think then you would see the issue first hand.
Let me know, I would like to use my phone to access the site.
If this doesn't work, how can I go about establishing a new account on the forum without causing issues with my existing ID?
Thanks,
Jim

I have answered your questions in another post. Any Ideas?

There is nothing on the account that is going to disallow logging in from a mobile device - especially since you're using the full site as you said. That you can log in with your son's account but not yours, again, suggests your username and/or password is not being entered correctly or is being auto corrected by the browser.
My suggestion would be to consider having your username changed to something more simpler.

Thanks for your time. I personally don't see that my user name is difficult, been using it a long time. Is there any reason I can't create a one digit password and give it to you. I would like you to try and log into my account on a mobile device. I think it will be helpful for you to see what is going on. I have asked a few different people to try on their phones and they are not able to get on.
Thanks,
Jim

What browser are you using and what device? Is it an Apple iphone/ipad with the default Safari browser?
I was able to log into your account on a mobile device. You may have noticed your last visit time stamp would have shown that. However, I noticed there is an issue that I believe is confined to Safari browser and it's also not just CorvetteForum. It appears to me the Safari browser is not passing the correct usernames that have a special character in them - your case the ' character part of your username.
We will look further into this. But please provide what device you're using and the browser. I apologize that we did not figure out this issue sooner. We could not duplicate the issue until adding different devices and browsers in the mix to finally spot the possible problem. It took a specific set of conditions to see this issue.

Thanks for the research. I am using my Apple phone. I have tried a few things, but haven't been able to get it to work yet. If I ask you to take the ( ' ) out of my user id, will I loose anything, historical posts? If not, than who do I contact to modify my login id?
thanks,
Jim

Jim,
No you won't lose any of your account history if the character is removed from your username. However, there is no forwarding of your username. Meaning, anyone who recalls you under your current username will have to know your username changed.
Also, my research has found that this is a bug with the Safari browser. It is not a bug with CorvetteForum. So I'm not 100% sure what we can do at this time, besides changing your username. I say this because I have a personal vBulletin-based forum (which is the same software CorvetteForum uses - although CorvetteForum's is much more modified) and I found that the issue appears on my personal vBulletin-based forum. It does not occur with other web browsers.
Something the Safari browser is doing is breaking the username input field, when there's special characters, and I suspect other websites that use similar login credentials may also have the issue.

Who do I contact to make the change in my login ID, remove the ' ?

I can do that, if you decide to do that option. If so, either PM or post here the username you want. Before you do so, I'm going to speak with the team to see if there is any other solutions. I doubt that we can do much since this appears to be a bug in the Safari browser with logins that also occur on other websites, but I'm going to check.
