I was having a hard time getting out of the corvette forum website and noticed a padlock symbol in the taskbar and thought that might have something to do with leaving the forum.

You mean in the browser's address bar? Security Report is part of the browser and will display secure information about websites. Don't know what you mean by having hard time getting out of CorvetteForum but it's likely unrelated.
