More information needed.
1) How many images are you trying to upload? Have you tried uploading less at one time?
2) How large in filesize are the images?
3) What browser are you using and what extensions are installed?
4) How long are you waiting past 50% mark before concluding it's not working? If number 1 and 2 is many and large, of course the time will take long and is dependent on factors such as your own connection.

Thanks for your response. I am using Google as a browser and I transferred these pictures from my Picasa program to my desktop in a zip file. It is possible they are too large or that I rushed it too much I will try again later , thanks
