Default Hit "submit", but no posting

Hi,

Am I doing something wrong or just not knowing where to find saved work?

I submitted a new thread in C5 Tech and that posted immediately, as I remember. Later, there were some responses and I acknowledged and thanked the responders but that did not post immediately. So I went to recompose and it was like a saved draft came up automatically in the box. I hit the submit button and it posted. So, OK, maybe I mis-hit the earlier submission.

More people chimed in and I wanted to thank them so I composed a reply and when I hit submit, and as I left for an appointment, I thought it was on its way. It wasn't. It never posted.

Two questions: Is it not sufficient to hit "submit"? And I have noticed that as I type response drafts, an "auto-saved" message lights up periodically in the bottom right corner. Where can I find these "saved" drafts? I tried looking in various places, like My Posts, etc., but could not find anything. Sometimes I have to leave the page for a second and when I get back, my draft is no longer retrievable.

My inputs have only posted when I have the time to see it from start to finish and hit submit and in the above-mentioned case, it didn't go through either.

Is it me, or procedural?

Thanks!
MR2

Pressing Submit once is all that's required, assuming there is a message to post. Given your story, it sounds like an issue with your browser. The Submit button isn't a simple link, but instructs your browser to run a javascript to check things for, example, character length. It sounds like you're either not pressing the Submit button (perhaps faulty mouse or trackpad) or the browser is not performing the javascript. Try clearing your browser's cache. If CorvetteForum is bookmarked as a Favorite then you need to de-select Preserve Favorites data when clearing cache. If that doesn't work, then suspect 3rd party plugins or security software may be interfering with the process or problem with the mouse/trackpad.

The saved drafts are attached to each thread. They are not located elsewhere. So when viewing a thread where you had typed a response that was saved, you will see the Restore Auto-Saved content for that specific thread if it exists.

Thanks for your response. I'll go with not hitting the submit icon properly. Although I follow your javascript explanation, the original message in this very thread posted immediately with one hit of submit. Since I had done nothing to my hardware or software at that point, this almost infallibly points to operator error.
Best,
MR2
