I noticed this recently started occurring. When you start typing a reply or edit a post, but then decide to back out, you're prompted as below:
Happens using both FF and Chrome, respective images above. Thanks.
Is there an issue?
The dialog prompt is normal and correct. If you type something into the Reply but then try to navigate away, you will lose the contents because it's not saved. The dialog box prevents page navigation either intentionally or unintentionally when there is data inputted but not saved or submitted.
This is not a feature specific to CorvetteForum and the dialog box is part of the browser that is triggered. There are other sites that use that feature in forms to prevent data loss by the user navigating away from the page after typing something in but not submitting the data.

The issue is it's annoying. Since it just started occurring I can surmise it's a recent change.

Yes, it is recent. Again, while CorvetteForum's software triggers the dialog the dialog itself is part of the browser and this behavior is not specific to CorvetteForum as online submission forms often use this feature. It is intended to prevent someone from entering in data and losing it before it is submitted or saved by accidentally navigating away from the page by either clicking a wrong button or sometimes using the backspace key can tell the browser to go back one page and thus lose all the data.
Yes, the dialog box can be annoying for the few times where someone might start to type in a message and then delete it, but it's probably equally as annoying to those who lose what they typed if the feature wasn't active.
Over the years I've seen several members ask about restoring messages they typed and lost. Although the system periodically saves drafts, which is an improvement, there are still cases where typed information can become lost.
