Default Returning to post

that you are replying to. Up until several days ago whenever I replied to a post and clicked the back arrow several times, it was always returned to the post I replied to. Now it returns me to the 1st post I read when I signed in to the CFOT thread, which may be many, many posts that I have already read. I then have to advance to the post I commented on.

Very seldom use a back arrow, I just use New Posts or My Recent Topics up top in the black banner to review my recent posts.

That's a lot of work to get back to the "quoted" post when you're reading all the threads. Besides it only started doing this 2 days ago. Something changed in the program I think.

Your thread wasn't missed. I'm not sure I understand your issue. Anytime a thread is replied to, you should be taken back to the thread you replied to. So not sure I understand why you're pressing the back buttons Even that said, if I use the full-reply method to reply and hit the back button a few times after the page refresh of my post is submitted, it takes me back to the thread and to the bottom of it.

Never had it return me to the thread I replied to. That's why I use the back buttons. First click (used to do so until a week or two ago) returns me to my reply and second click used to take me back to post I replied to. Now 2nd click takes me back to where I started reading in the thread, which may be a dozen or more posts before the post I was replying to. I've had it take me back to the 40th post before the post I replied to. Something seems to have changed in the programming.

You're going to need to provide more details as to how you're accessing and using the site. Your description is not matching my results of normal usage across this site and the sister sites within the network.

Just like this thread, I'm typing a response and it returns me back to the thread to show my posted reply.

Yes, mine does that also but the post returned to is the 1st post listed in the thread when I opened for the day, not the post I replied to like it used to. I sign into CFOT the regular way, go to "My Recent posts." That takes me to all the posts that I have replied to in the past. I go to 1st post that I have not read today, I read through the posts and then reply to one (maybe more). Then to get back to the post I was replying to (in order to read the rest of the same thread) I have always clicked the back arrow 2 times. The first time took me to the blank reply. The second click used to take me to 1st post after the post I replied to. That is what mine used to do. Now it returns me to the post I opened up (1st unread) when I clicked on (joined the thread to read updates since I last signed in yesterday.) I'm not sure how to tell you anything different but the changes started several weeks ago.

Here's an example. In the pit bull thread, there was a post(#49 ) that i replied to ( my reply #50). submitted it and it first took me back to my reply post (but I started reading at post 30). I then normally clicked the back arrow on my browser (Firefox) twice to get back to post #50 (my reply) but instead it returns me to post 30 where I started . I then have to skip back to my reply # 50.

Your example is still confusing. If you replied (your post #50 reference) and you indicate you was taken back to your reply (assuming still post #50), it is unclear why you then go on to state you're clicking back arrow to get back to post #50.

CorvetteForum is free to access and use, however, it does not provide any guarantees. Reasonable effort is made to assist in technical difficulties as well as making sure the site is operational and functions as intended. Not always is there going to be resolution when the issues are not always within CorvetteForum's control or due to the fact there are nearly 500K members and, thus, different opinions and usage. At this time, there is no clear indication the issue you're reporting is a CorvetteForum glitch or the browser or 3rd party plugin software. Firefox has been updated several times since your thread. I'm also a FireFox user by default. Although your examples are difficult to follow, the site is not functioning different for me with Firefox in regard to posting replies and the landing area after the reply. The back button is a function of the browser along with the website, so there is no exact indicator there.
