People generally don't repost an ad. Instead, they reply to the ad to bring it back to the top of the index page. You can reply to the ad with anything.
by the way, how does replying to the ad get it to move to the front?
By default, threads are displayed from newest to oldest. So when a thread receives a new reply, that makes the thread go back to the top of the index listing since they are sorted based on last activity.
