I went back to the OP's orig post citing my user name. Then I put the mouse on it and clicked it. It brought up my profile page which is OK with me bc that can be accomplished by anyone anyway.
As said, the OP who cited my user name is OK. With that I thank you for the response to the Q. For now I will retain settings as is. Good to know I have the option to change the feature that triggered the alert.

You need to use the @ sign followed by the username, which will prompt a list of matching usernames to check. Without the @ sign before the username, no tagging is activated.
