Half the time, when quoting a poster, this site doesn't allow any response, if you delete any photos. Sometimes, it won't allow me to even quote the entire thing, says my message is too short. WTH!
If we want to quote someone's post, why should we have to include five or six photos in it, also?

Anyone else having this issue?

Not sure what it might have caused that.
I just made a response after deleting the pictures from a member's post and it went through ok.
Maybe there was a problem earlier that is corrected now.

I noticed people's location under their avatar keeps disappearing at random, maybe the forum caught covid-19

The forum did some kind of update last week and the locations vanished. I hope it goes back to showing them.

I haven't noticed anything abnormal yet. I haven't been on an actual computer with the forum lately but using my tablet and it seems fine so far. I did notice I can't send any pictures in a PM for quite a while though. I quit trying to do that and haven't tried for a while.

Just on this thread, I don't see location info for anyone who has posted. It's got the usual username and posting stuff, but no locations. That is a recent development.

Correction: I see my own location (Maryland), but no one else's.

Correction #2: Now even that has disappeared. Weird!

Sounds like a bad software "upgrade".

This was answered in the Help subforum. Part of the update and will be fixed.

Try quoting a post that also has pics included. Now, try to delete the pics and still post your response. It will not let you do that, plus it deletes your text.
This has been going on, for many months. If anything, the update(s) have made the problem worse.

Moved to the Forum’s Help Section. I did a test with the quote/deleting pics and it worked just fine.

It sounds like what you're describing is the javascript checker to ensure the post being submitted has some content. Note it is not supposed to allow simply a quoted post as that technically doesn't contain any new content and thus would be like submitting a blank post. Also note that javascript is processed by your browser. Since I'm not aware of this issue, especially since you indicate it has been going on for months, it's possible you have a browser issue or using 3rd party software that is altering the appearance and/or functionality of the site.

The location field data was a known issue and was a result of a recent upgrade. It is being fixed.

Edit: the location field issue should now be fixed. If you're not seeing it, you may need to clear your browser's cache.

I haven't changed anything in my computer settings. This problem just popped up, out of the blue. When I try to quote someone's post that has photos in it, and deleting some of the pics, site will delete all of my post text and gives me this warning message. When someone posts a ton of pics in a thread, I should not have to include them all, again, when answering their post. FWIW, I cleared my cache.

The following errors occurred with your submission:
  1. The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 3 characters.

I didn't state you made any changes. While on that note, any modern O/S, Anti-Virus software and the major browsers all frequently update in the background which can certainly introduce new issues without knowledge.

What I did state is how that error message works. It's a javascript message that is displayed by your browser as it executes code. Therefore, the browser does play a role in that error message.

That said, I'm not able to duplicate your issue. So we will need more detailed information.

1) Link to a specific post that the issue can be replicated. If it's a multiple page thread, please link to the specific post. We need to see the very same thing.
2) State what browser you're using
3) State how you're accessing CorvetteForum. Mobile device? Mobile App? Mobile Skin? Full-view desktop?
4) State the browser plugins being used.

For example, I picked the following post that had numerous pictures:
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...post1601106353

I removed all the pictures, just leaving the member's quote box, and attempted to post a reply with me just adding "test". It went through. Note even though I'm in the Administrator usergroup, the system still holds all accounts to certain limitations - such as this minimum post character issue you're reporting.
