There should be a 5 min window for any edits on posts, that doesnt show the Edited memo.

Its annoying when I ninja edit stuff I may have missed at first glance, usually a spelling error, or a fix for clarification.

The memo and the seperation line is annoying, I to scroll thru the comments and read without signatures or breaks.

Its more appropriate that its highlighted when the thread has more responses and the edit may deviate the thread from the original. So like 5 min..

Maybe change the opacity to like 50%?

Because this is a global setting, of course, there can only be one answer and there's going to be a difference of opinion as to what that answer should be. Changing the display (Edited by) based on number of posts would require some re-write of the code. Not saying No, but it's not a trivial task even for what appears to be a minor change.

That said, there's a Preview post button for a reason
