If you have questions or concerns about moderation, you need to PM a Moderator. That's been the case for over atleast 10 years. List of Moderators are shown in the bottom right of each index per forum.
There are a lot of factors in the ads that you may see. Yes, some ads are in fact specific to you - such as based on location of your IP and/or browsing history. Some are less specific and generic.
While the site is free to access and use for personal usage, it is not free to operate. Ads help pay bills to keep the site online as well as people that work behind the scenes for the company that owns CorvetteForum and many other sites like CorvetteForum.
I know there are some settings that the team uses, and Google provides, to help filter ads. The site tries to keep "clean" ads as in ads that don't try to hijack a computer and install malware or some other extreme type of ads that might be allowed in the dark corner of the web. Sometimes bad ads slip through. I'm not entirely sure exactly what type of ad you seen, but based on your brief description it would appear you're upset over ads that may not fit your specific interests, views and opinions. At times, feedback is received in the form of a complaint when a Chevrolet ad might appear on a Ford site, vice versa, etc. On CorvetteForum, there's over 500K members. That means there's a wide range of people that will have different interests, opinions, views for just about any topic.
Lastly, Administrators and Moderators on CF are not involved with the advertisements used on CF.
