Default Auto Saved

I have noticed that while creating text in a post, there is an occasional message that pops up saying "Auto Saved". I assume this means my text entry is being saved somewhere so that I can retrieve it if needed in case of a system failure so I don't have to start all over again with my text entry. If that is true, how and where do I retrieve the text that has been Auto Saved?

You cannot directly access or view them as they're stored in your browser's database.

You must revisit the same thread (if a reply) or same forum section (if new thread) and you will be given a Restore button option below the message field if there's an associated auto save event.

Thanks, JT. Maybe my Firefox browser doesn't cooperate for some reason, then. I have done what you said on several different occasions, but have never seen a restore button below the message field.

My main browser is Firefox and it works. First attachment shows the button. Second button shows the auto save restored that I had previously typed.

All right. I played around with it a bit and did my best to follow your instructions, and it seems that it is working for me now. The key is that after an "Auto Saved" signal, if you leave your post due to any kind of interruption, then go back to that same post again, the "Restore Auto-Saved Content" button is there. Thanks for your help.

Yes, that is the normal operation of how it works. It's there to restore a saved draft, after the page is refreshed or re-opened, in the event the content is lost due to browser crash or the site cannot be reached. Otherwise the typed post would normally be lost if that weren't implemented.
