New thread approval?

How long does it take for a newbie like me to have a thread approved before it appears? I tried posting a thread and it says it needs to be approved first.

There is no exact time frame as the Staff are volunteers who assist in their free time. Administration tries to ensure there is enough staff available to help cover the majority of the time during normal usage. Additionally, new, or accounts with low activity, are more subjected to the automated Spam filter until they've become "established". We can't disclose the specifics as the measures are in place to help protect the community. Using the site for its intended purposes will quickly result in less content being less likely to be flagged by the automated Spam system.
