Default Why?

Why is there not at least, a zip code in everyones avatar? Common sense, It would save time and posts, especially in for sale sections. Thanks.

Privacy would appear to be the logical answer. You wouldn't want a zip code, especially required, for "everyones avatar" given that not everyone uses the Classifieds.

With what people post about themselves, their videos, personalized license plates. It would be easy to track them down. A zip code would almost be anonymous. Alot of zip codes have a population of 10-50 thousand people. Just saying, zip codes really?

You asked why, and the logical answer is privacy. Besides the fact not everyone posts personalized plates, or other specific identifiers, nor does everyone use the classifieds or want to be easily tracked down. Why not use a real name for your username? There's probably a few out there with the same first/last name. Same idea.

Members can already put that (location) information into their profile, if they want, and it helps allow members to connect using the Memberlist and it does display in the avatar area (postbit). But if you're suggesting it be required, as I suspect, that's different and I doubt will likely happen for the reason stated.
