I recently purchased a hardtop off e-bay. As with other large items, transport is always a factor. I have used freight Companies and U-ship before. There are several hardtops for sale on e-bay, and probably on this forum. The purchase was from another state. I again considered freight companies and U-ship. Since I didn't come up with any good options, I also considered flying to the location, renting a truck/van to get it myself. I searched the forum, and being new, didn't find any recent posts on options. I checked around with another Corvette collector, and he recommended Craters & Freighters. I settled on using Craters & Freighters. I called the one closest to my location. Price was very high. Then I called Craters & Freighters near the location of the pickup and got a very reasonable price, plus paid a few extra bucks for insurance. They are a franchise company with many locations in the U.S. They came highly recommended to me by someone that knew another Corvette collector, and had them previously pickup from his location; and after 50 years of my loving the Corvette, I learned something new. C&F are not the cheapest but still reasonable priced, and I have confidence in the Company. I am not a promoter for C&F, but hopefully this post will aid someone like me that may need to transport a hardtop in the future, and not be afraid to do so because of shipping costs. But, next time before I buy, I will check with C&F before I made the purchase for shipping costs. And if someone out there has a better or similar experience, I would appreciate your input. I'm still learning the forum, and am glad to have the assistance and learn from all of You Corvette lovers. Thanks to all in this forum.
This Help section is for Help with the CorvetteForum website (account issues, etc.,) and is not the place to post technical questions about Corvettes or other discussions that aren't related to this website specifically. Instead, please find the correct section, based on the generation of the Corvette.
Now start to slowly scroll down until you see your generation of Corvette listed.
That said, your post is not really specific to any generation of Corvette. There is an Off Topic section, as well as Regional sections, that might be better appropriate for your topic.
We encourage new members to take some time to browse around as well as read all the Announcements and Stickies as they contain important and frequently asked information.
