I have a 1996 C4 Vette and have read several posts within this forum and additional internet searches re: problems with the C4 Corvette tach. Everything from tack quit working, to incorrect readings, etc. The replies suggest many different possibilities: an electrical short, a bad TBS or tach filter or cluster circuit board. I was hoping someone may have experienced my specific problem and be able to identify a more specific area I can concentrate / focus my attention. Problem: Biggest issue is my problem is intermittent. Tach works most of the time and functions with no issues, but every now and then the tach “pegs” when turn on the ignition. After starting the tach shows an idle speed of approximately 2200 RPM when the idle speed, based on sound, is actually normal. If the car sits for a couple of days and start the car all is normal until the next time the tach decides to act up. Based on the above there may be no more specific suggestions available. Just hoping someone has experienced my specific problem and may have a suggestion other than it could be a multitude of issues. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks Bob
