Default Cannot PM

Hello, I can't send any private messages yet but wanted to contact another member about a car they had listed for sale. I assume this is because I only have 1 post so the site thinks I am a scammer. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Thanks

New members can't PM for a little while. It's to prevent scammers. The exact number of posts you have to have is never revealed, but it's not many.

Nothing you can do to fix it.

PM access is restricted on new accounts, or accounts with low activity, to help protect the community against spammers and scammers.

The system does not rely on just post counts. Also, posting just to post can easily get flagged.

We encourage members to use the site for its intended purpose as that will be the way to gain access while also not getting flagged.

How new is "new"? I made the account about two months ago and I've been on the forum almost every day.

We don't publicly disclose details because it can be used to circumvent the system. The system in place is to help protect the community from scammers so it's in the interest of the community that information, and how it works, not be tossed around.

Thank-you.

I'm in the same boat. The dream car I want is for sale on this forum and I'm somehow just waiting around for me to be magically approved. I understand the spam consideration but dang, I might lose my dream car over this. Can an admin just allow me to message one member :0

Post a message in the thread where it's for sale. Your request is not likely to happen.

Do post usually have to get approved by admin?

All new accounts, or accounts with low activity, are subjected to the automated spam filter. It's an automated service that is based on settings and an external service that help communities, like CorvetteForum, with spam.

Your one recent post has been approved.

Continue to use the site for its intended purpose and doing so will allow you complete access as well as being subjected less to the spam filter.
