Am having a Temperature Gauge problem on my '63 Split Window. Had entire instrument panel cluster redone about 3 years ago by Eckler's. Everything worked fine until just recently. As you know, standard markings on C2 Temp Gauge are 100, 180 and 240 degrees, with "hash marks" at temps between those readings. With ignition switch "OFF", my gauge needle reads about 200. When ignition switch is "ON", needle jumps to past 240. I replaced temp sending unit and wire...but that didn't help. I know the gauge is sensing temperature, because I started the car, let the engine idle for a while, and the gauge needle readings increased...to about 220 when ignition switch "OFF", and way past 240 when ignition switch "ON". Guessing I have a gauge that broke, and now needs to be replaced. Any helpful thoughts will be appreciated. I HATE to have to remove the instrument panel cluster again! Thanks, in advance, for your help.
