When a sticky is "updated" there is no corresponding date change. For example, the ""Stars" & member desingnation defined" sticky shows the last update as being 05-16-2005. So when I looked to see if there's been a change in your policy, it appears that there has been none. That's confusing. Looks like a new posting, with a new date, would be clearer to users. Thanks.

There was no change in policy. There was simply a change to the user titles, which was supposed to be "fun", and not some change that would be considered more important to, perhaps, warrant an updated notice.
No threads show "last update", per the term you're describing, but instead show creation date and the last reply on the index listing. This is normal and has been the case for years. Any member who created a thread can edit their first (or subsequent) postings in their thread with the same result. This also has been the case for years and is done, by members, on a daily basis.
