Default Ignore list bug?

Not sure if this is a bug report (which I think it is), or if it's a feature request. But here it is.

Let's say I put a user named "Troll" on my ignore list, and "Troll" posts on a thread I'm looking at. I see "This message is hidden because Troll is on your ignore list." All is good, I didn't want to see that post anyway.

Now, user "Ignoramus" comes along and sees that post, feels that it's their responsibility to point out that "Troll" is posting BS and quotes the post. In my opinion, Ignoramus's post should look like this:

You're an idiot and Your post is BS.

But it doesn't work that way. Because "Ignoramus" is an idiot and wants to argue with "Troll," I'm subjected to having to look at BS posts from a troll I have on my ignore list. Shouldn't this be fixed? What's the point of the ignore list if it doesn't ignore the quoted posts?

I suppose it's probably considered a bug, or condition not evaluated at the time of development, despite this has been the way the system has dealt with quoted ignored posts for years. The Ignore feature blocks PMs, and direct messages posted on the forum, from the member that is on an Ignore list.

Perhaps in a future update it could be improved, but it's a basic feature for those who need to use it.

Thank you for your reply.

Can it be reported as a bug. I understand, this is probably a low priority. Still, in some cases recently it's been an annoyance.

For example, here: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...a-500-a-2.html starting around post 30 in that thread, there was a troll who was way off topic and everyone was arguing with them. I reported the posts as off topic and trolling, and a couple of them as "personal attacks" (because they were getting nasty), but nothing was removed. When nothing happened, I added them to my ignore list, and I was still having to look at their OT crap when others were arguing with them.
