Hi, I just joined the forum and am interested in a car listed by a member on the C6 Corvettes for Sale page. What's the best way to contact the seller given I don't have PM privileges yet as a new member? Do I post a thread on the listing requesting that the seller PM me, and will I be able to access a PM sent?
No, there's no way that you can PM someone until you've been here a little longer and have made more posts. The exact number of posts required is not published, but it's to disallow spammers and scammers. Just because they PM you won't change that. Just respond with a post in the thread you're interested in.
I don't know whether they can PM you or if you could read a PM from them.
Thanks, Vette_DD! I'll respond with a post in the thread and ask the seller to PM me and I'll mention that I'm a new member and am not sure if I'll receive the PM. Then we can figure it out from there. Thanks!
It is a security measure built in to site for new members, with more activity you will be eventually be able to post, will move you here to help. Feel free maybe post a simple introduction and say hi

To answer this question specifically, no, members cannot PM a member that has no PM access. The exception, of course, is staff and the automated account can override to send a PM to an account that has no PM access. In that case, the member can read the PM.
Thanks, J T. Can I post in the thread (where the seller is listing the car) and ask them to contact me by phone or email? Is listing a phone number or email address in a post like this against forum rules or not advised?
