What does the "descriptor" under the UID mean

What does the "descriptor" under the UID mean
Under my UID it says I'm "Melting Slicks"
Others say "race director", "Pro", "intermediate" and etc. It doesn't seem to be a ranking by the numbers for the user.
Just curious.
