Password change

Why is it so difficult to change my password on this forum? I enter my user name, and enter forgot my password. It redirects me to another page, then sends me a temporary password to my e-mail. I then go to the link to change my password. It says-enter my password. I enter the temporary pw and the new pw and it says incorrect pw. I have e-mailed the moderator and got zero response. It will not let me stay logged in this goes on when my laptop goes to sleep. What am doing wrong?

Thank you for the answer. When it requests your current password, is that the temporary password? It would be helpful if you could see what you are typing also.

The password you're emailed from the automated password reset is not temporary. You can continue to use it or change it.
