Just sitting in my C7 at a stop sign, minding our own business, when the engine starts to rev up rather scarily. I’ve got the brake & clutch pedals depressed, not touching the gas pedal but the revs climb all the way to/near 6K, just sitting there. Finally shoved it into neutral, might’ve just tapped the gas pedal, and it backed off to normal idle - although not without the oil temp hitting 205+, and a briefly lingering burning oil smell. Can anyone tell me why this might’ve happened, what I may have done wrong?

Hello, this Help section is for Help with the CorvetteForum website (account issues, etc.,) and is not the place to post technical questions about Corvettes, or other questions not related to the website, as they will not be seen by other Corvette owners.
Instead, please find the correct section, based on the generation of the Corvette.
We encourage new members to take some time to browse around the site and read the Announcements and Stickies as they contain important and frequently asked information.
