Default Missing the small button for User Control Panel

Up until about 2 days ago there was a small button in the upper left hand side just above the forum name that allowed you to quickly with one click get back to your User CP, seems to be missing now?
I know I can get to my User CP in the drop down menu under my user name or at the very bottom of the page under forum jump, but the little button was much easier.
Am I missing something or has it been removed for a reason?
Thanks

You mean the menu bar?

That has been retired as many of the links in the menu bar were also in the global (red) nav bar at the very top. Removal of the old menu bar allows content to move up. Some links were not duplicated, so they were moved accordingly.

The UserCP is the User Control Panel and is generally an infrequently visited option once the account is set up and configured. The content on the forums is generally where people spend the time discovering, so that's why the removal of the menu bar and the duplicated links.

Yes exactly, Well OK, if it is gone it is gone, but I used that button all the time, once I finish with a forum I mark the forum read and then would hit the UserCP button to get back to the forums I have selected as most interesting to me. There are work arounds as I mentioned, so be it I guess.

Thanks for the quick reply.

One constant in life is change. Computers always have two ways to do a function.

Thanks for your feedback, I used the userCP to check new posts in subscribed threads, now it takes me two steps to do it as opposed to one.

Perhaps I'm missing it, is there a one step process at the top of the page to check new posts in subscribed threads?

I used the UserCP link constantly.

The UserCP link was the easiest way to quickly show current threads/discussion you are involved in. And the placement along the left side just above where the threads are displayed made it super intuitive to just click, scroll and click again.

Now that the UserCP link has been removed, what other convenient one-click option to show subscribed threads is there?

My recent topics, although if you're using your smart phone it may not show up (doesn't with me), it's along the top black bar.

What I have resorted to doing is when finished with one forum, click on at the top of the page, that brings me to the forum discussion page with my "Subscribed Forums" at the top, I can then easily navigate to the forums I have selected as most important to me to read.
