96 C4, no 3rd or OD

96 C4, no 3rd or OD
Have a 96 C4 base with 89,000 miles drove to auto parts store to get oil and oil filter drove and shifted just fine left the store got in a Corvette got on the interstate and it would not shift in the third or Overdrive I need some help please no previous indications of any transmission problems at all no trouble codes shown either shift from first to second just fine no noises in the transmission reverse works just fine engine runs just fine just all of a sudden no third or fourth gear
