35th Anniversary Edition
My Corvette, 1988 Anniversary Edition had only 4000 miles when I bought it in 2013- now it has 18000.MILES..
Way back, AT ABOUT 8000 MILES, after long periods of being stored, it developed "Service Engine" SOMETIMES....I mean it is intermittent....If it starts and the message does not come on...then it will 'not come on' as I drive....
If I start it, and the message comes on.....then it stays on ...
Again, intermittent depending if the light comes on or not....WHEN I START THE MOTOR...
I noticed often, that if the engine starts without hesitation/ real quick...i.e. right after the key is turned on....then most of the time the light does not come on...
But if I have the starter going longed before it fires....the message usually always ...comes on!
I feel it is likely with a sensor, since the car is not used/ stored ...for many months in a year...
Someone told me to get a ...CODE READER ...and plug it in to find if it is a sensor ...
Also I try to always fuel it ..........with "no ethanol" fuel...!!
Can you advise me....if you have experienced this..
