Default Email Notification Issues

Lately, I've been experiencing some 'sporadic' missing email notifications (subscribed threads & PM messages).
I've double checked by email address, and WHITELISTED corvetteforum.com on the server level.
None of the missing emails are in my SPAM folder... are there any known issues on your end?

Any updates to share?

BTW- Yesterday, I subscribed to TWO threads (for testing purposes)... BOTH were replied to, but only ONE email notification came in.
(once again checked my SPAM folder... nothing there)

The logs show that the emails, globally, have been processed as expected.

You should check your email provider's spam/junk/bulk folder.

Yes, I checked the email address on your profile. We have no bounces or alerts for it.

You may need to actually log into their web-based email as the Spam/Bulk/Junk folder in the web-based email may not sync with your email program, if using one to manage emails.

Otherwise, there is nothing else we can do. The emails are being sent. Additionally, my personal email is gmail based and the email notifications are working correctly as current as this afternoon.

Did anyone ever check previous bounces or alerts for my account?

Oddly enough, I got an email regarding this thread.
I'll try another web browser to access my gmail account, although I use the Windows Chrome browser (fully up to date) to access it, and receive notifications via email.

Yes. No bounce backs reported then or today. In fact, I see none that goes back some weeks.

Do all www.corvetteforum.com daily emails (I'm subscribed to 2 sub forums, C8 General and C8 Tech) get sent from the forumsupport@corvetteforum.com address?
I may have figured out what happened, but leave it with me for now.
If it works overnight tonight, I'll update this thread with the results.

FYI- I received an email notification for post #3, but nothing after my latest reply... so my sporadic issue continues.

No change. No emails from the C8 General or C8 Tech sub forums.
I wanted to take a break from the forums(s) for a while. Thought maybe I had unsubscribed (temporarily) from the forums, but I may have used the Gmail "unsubscribe" function, which (supposedly) sends all future emails from that email address directly to Spam or the bit bucket. It's irreversible, apparently. I tried the work around to create a rule to "never send this address to Spam", but it made no difference.
Oh well, not a big deal. I spend too much time on the net as it is.

To be clear, you won't get any new notifications for the same thread if you haven't visited the site since the last notification was sent. In other words, it doesn't compound notifications. It never has. I only say that because there is a gap in your post history, so I don't know if that also means you weren't visiting.

In case I'm not understanding the notification process, please correct me:
  • Nobody ever replied to my posts in June or July
  • In August, I received a notification from Post #3
  • I replied in post #7, so that should have started the notification sequence again
  • Posts #8-10 should have triggered a new notification... I did not receive any
  • I replied in post #11... that should have started the notification sequence again
  • I received a notification for post #12 (indicating the notifications restarted)
  • I visited the site PRIOR to your post #13, and MARKED FORUMS READ (via the dropdown menu)
  • I did not receive any notification that you had replied

I typically visit a couple times as a day, quickly open new posts of interest, and MARK FORUMS READ.
I'll then go back and do my reading... on occasion, I'll get a notification before I even finish reading (busy threads).
Unless I'm totally in the dark, the notifications are sporadic... at least for me.

ADDENDUM: As noted in my 1st post, even a PM reply occasionally does NOT trigger a notification email to me.
For myself, this all started approximately in June... prior to that, there were no notification issues that I can recall.

FYI, I'm also getting notification emails about this thread when either of you update it.
Just not getting the C8 General and C8 Tech daily emails that I'm subscribed to.
Is there a "start from scratch" reset option (close, delete?) for my account that you could try?
I could start from scratch, if that might work, sign up gain, etc.
If not, no problem.

Default E-Mail Notifications from Corvette Forum

I'm not receiving any of the e-mail notifications of those that I have subscribed to. Stopped receiving them about two weeks ago. I have since unsubscribed and resubscribed and I'm still not receiving them daily. Nothing in the Spam Folder either.

OK, I think I'm "fixed".
Got the daily email updates from my 3 subscribed sub forums overnight.
"what did you do to fix it?" you might ask.
I went into the User Control Panel > EDIT YOUR DETAILS > Edit Email and Password (in the first section).
I changed the email address I used to sign up, to a different email address that I use for other stuff.
Went through the change confirmation process, using the *new* email address, and saw a prompt that "re-enabled" the 3 forums to continue receiving email updates.
This seemed to "wake up" the email process and I was now getting forum related emails to the *new* address.
So, I thought, maybe if I now change back to my original email address, it might fix that one, too?
I went back into the User Control Panel > EDIT YOUR DETAILS > Edit Email and Password (in the first section).
I changed the email address I just updated to re-trigger the emails, back to the original email address, and went through the change confirmation process again.
Received the email address change confirmations at the old email address, clicked the prompt to reactivate or reenable sub forum daily emails, and waited.
This morning, there were 3 sub forum daily updates in my original email address Inbox.
I guess changing your email address does something to clear whatever was blocking it from receiving them.
Both email addresses are Gmail addresses, but I don't know if that matters.

FYI- Received an email notification when Crewsn replied this morning...
I replied, so that should have reset the email notifications...
But did not get a notification when MKC8 replied.
So my notifications are still sporadic.

Try switching your email address to another one you access/use, then switch back to your current one, in the USER CP as described above.
Worked for me.
